The Absolute Truth – Śrī Kṛṣṇa

“athāto brahma jijñāsā – (Vedānta-sūtra 1.1.1)
This human form of life is meant for inquiring about the Absolute Truth.”

Translated from Sanskrit language in a more literal way the above means: “Now is the time to inquire about the Absolute Truth.” ‘Now’ indicates urgency because the human form of life is extremely rare in the cycle of birth and death and therefore very precious.

There is no shortage of anything in this world. Except for the almost total absence of wisdom that is qualified of guiding humankind to the perfection of life – both society and the individual. Even the most basic, yet profound, information is challenging to discover and realize. What is that realization? We are not identical with our body but rather pure and eternal spirit souls – each and every one in our original personal form. Presently we are conditioned and in illusion which may be compared to very deep slumber.

Scientists, Philosophers, and other seekers of knowledge almost without exception tread the path of speculation and experiments. They certainly do provide us with scientific proof. Unfortunately these evidences apply only to the dimensions we are living in, namely a tiny part of this transient material creation. True, from the scientists’ point of view humanity has made tremendous advancement throughout the ages; the vast majority of people may even agree.
However, no intelligent and sane person will deny the fact that we are subjected to never-ending sufferings. Old age, disease, death, and again being forced to take yet another birth which may not even be a new life as a human being. There is a very high risk of going back to the animal kingdom and again further and further down – with no chance to even ask “Who am I?”, “Why am I suffering?”
Empirical knowledge is inherently not capable of providing answers and practical solutions to our most urgent dilemma. As living beings we are yearning for our original eternal existence in bliss and knowledge – in loving exchange with the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Śrī Kṛṣṇa.
Only an authentic spiritual master and the revealed scriptures are in the position to guide us back home, back to Godhead. Yes, Krishna consciousness is not something newly formulated, nor is it an artificial method that was fabricated by imperfect human beings. Krishna consciousness means purification from all the coatings of rubbish accumulated in millions of lifetimes. It is the genuine process of awakening – awakening to our original existence of love of God.

Quote for March 2019

kṛṣṇa—sūrya-sama; māyā haya andhakāra
yāhāṅ kṛṣṇa, tāhāṅ nāhi māyāra adhikāra

Kṛṣṇa is compared to sunshine, and Māyā is compared to darkness. Wherever there is sunshine, there cannot be darkness. As soon as one takes to Kṛṣṇa consciousness, the darkness of illusion (the influence of the external energy) will immediately vanish..

(Caitanya-caritāmrta, Madhya-līlā 22.31)
